The garden
Shade, cushions, and a timber deck.

It is the part of the place people photograph, and the part they end up sitting in for three hours.
The pause
Somewhere between the crema and the coastline.
Ten minutes at a table here does something a takeaway cup cannot. That is the whole idea, and it is easier to show than to write.
Come off the road, order at the counter, and sit down until the glass is empty.

The water
The cove is at the end of the path.
Sheltered enough to swim most mornings, with a headland taking the worst of the swell off it.
Boards, bodies, or just standing in it up to your knees — all fine. Come back up when you are ready.
Inside
A room that lets you think.
Enough space between the tables that you can hear the person opposite you.
Long counter, stoneware thrown on this island, and light that moves across the back wall through the morning.
In high season we will ask you to close the laptop when the tables are needed. It is a small ask and the room is better for it.
The cups
Nothing here is disposable by default.
Sitting in means stoneware, a wooden coaster and a saucer. Taking away means a cup, and we would rather you did not need one.
